In one sense, flying in space is simpler than flying in air: once in space, you only have to deal with two forces--thrust and gravity (weight). But while airplanes rely on air pressure to fly, spacecraft require different means. Space can be a confusing place, where flying can mean falling, where slowing down can make you go faster, where mastery of the laws of motion is essential for moving about.
